As
you come up the road that leads to Volpaia, first enjoy the lovely view
from the road before arriving in the fortified village: a real jewel.
What strikes you is the atmosphere of times gone by of this spot that greets
you warmly. As you arrive in the main square, you will see the restaurant
"La Bottega" on one side and the Wine Bar "Bar-Ucci" on the other.
Allow yourselves a break and you will be entertained by the Barucci
family who will do their best to involve you in a genuine family harmony with
the same affection that is given by those who love their own land. |

Samples
of real life lived in the simplicity of by-gone times, keeping alive
memories of the past, are offered by Carla, the eldest daughter, who loves
suggesting dishes in the best Chianti tradition, passed down from generation
to generation: |
authentic flavours being
the secret of this restaurant that has had a license for 296 years,
as oral tradition has it.
Her great passion for the culinary culture has led Carla to carry out
research into traditional cooking methods common centuries ago, which she shares
with true feeling in her cooking classes.
Living simple moments in full consciousness means rendering them
unforgettable, and at Paola's, the younger sister, you can enjoy a snack with
their outstanding house salami and a glass of good wine, in what was once the
village stable and which is now named after the family: Bar-Ucci.
... it is probably
worth continuing along the road towards paradise
and breaking the journey at the Baruccis in Volpaia ...
